Winter Break Activities: Christmas Movies
The set up
Everyone loves to watch a good Christmas movie. And nothing enhances the movie watching experience like the right setting, added comfort, and a few snacks or beverages that fit the theme. My kids love the air mattress set up that we did for the Halloween movies so we did it again for the Christmas movies. I turned on all the light up decorations to add to the mood. We even got lucky with some snow outside our windows!
Ok, I didn’t have anything to do with the snow, but it definitely was the icing on the cake.
Goodies
We added a table of Christmas themed snacks and some hot chocolate with toppings. I do try to make my kids eat a healthy lunch before the movie watching, just so I don’t feel guilty about all the sugar I’m letting them consume. But it’s the holidays, right? Gotta enjoy life.
Making a list...
Here’s a list of our family’s favorite Christmas movies and shows to watch, in no particular order. I would say most of these are for the 3-9 age range. There are a lot more to add to the list for the pre-teen kids, but for now, our family’s list stays in this age range.
No Christmas movie is complete without this one. Our family loves watching it. The kids like to come up with their own ideas of tricks and traps that they would make themselves.

This one is super cute. It came out in 2020 on Disney Plus and we watched it quite a bit. My daughter loved it and wanted her own Santa outfit after this one.
This is a cute short and the inspiration for my entryway decorations this year (see post in "Decorate it" section of blog). It has some great music, too.
