This is a quick and easy craft that you can make with your kids. Teach them how to use a stapler and then let them go to work making this cute decoration for Valentine’s Day.
You will need ...
Cardstock in rainbow colors
Stapler and staples
Scissors
Tape
Yarn, string, or ribbon for hanging the ornament.
Step 1
Cut the rainbow cardstock into long strips. I made these strips 1 inch wide. Once the strips are cut, fold them in half and be sure to really re-inforce the crease. This will make the bottom point of the heart.
Step 2
Holding the strip with the folded side close to you, turn the ends inwards and the heart shape will naturally form. Staple the ends together to hold the heart shape in place. Once all colors are formed into hearts, lay them together to form a wreath.
Step 3
Cut a piece of string which will be used to hang the wreath. Measure according to the desired length you prefer. Tuck each end of the string between two hearts. I taped them to one side of the heart just for added security.
Step 4
Finally, take the stapler and staple the hearts together to secure the wreath and the string in place.
NOTE:
6 hearts is the ideal amount. You could also do 7 hearts. But once you exceed this amount, the wreath is no longer round and instead just hangs like an oval or egg shape.
