Super Easy Glitter Art - Fall Edition

Are you looking for an easy craft for the kids to do that requires NO prep work?  Never underestimate the fun that kids can have with glue and glitter.  Let their imaginations run free and see what they create.  Help their creations match the season by providing them with autumn colored glitters.

You will need ...

  • Glue
  • Plain Canvas or Thick Paper
  • Glitter
  • Scissors
  • Craft Paper (optional)

Step One

If you would like to use craft paper to add details, go ahead and cut pieces ahead of time so they are ready to go once you begin gluing.

Step Two

Then, just let the kids go to it.  Encourage them to create abstract art with this one.  Glue and glitter are difficult to control so the abstract designs look best.

If your child doesn't do well with abstract art (many kids do not), encourage them to create large designs with few details. The use of the craft paper cut outs adds a nice texture to the art.

A word of caution

Thick paper is definitely a good idea as the kids can get a bit generous with the glue.  Advise them not to use too much glue or the picture will take a very long time to dry.  The photo on the left took over 24 hours to completely dry.  Though, it does look really neat and has a ton of texture and dimension thanks to all the glitter and glue.  Enjoy!
