DIY Easy Plant Markers

Getting ready to plant some seeds for spring? Make these easy DIY plant markers so you don’t forget what seeds you dropped!

You will need ...

  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Permanent Markers
  • Fine Tip Permanent Marker
  • Glue Gun
  • Sequins, optional

Step One

Use a marker to color a popsicle stick to be the plant stem.

Step Two

Color five or six other popsicle sticks to be the flower petals. You can color them to match the flower they will be marking.

Step Three

Once the sticks have all been colored, its time to assemble them. Glue them on one at a time to create a flower on a stem.

Step Four

At this point, glue on the sequins to the flower. This step is optional. But I have read that the shiny reflective items work to deter animals from plants. So if you are planting flowers or vegetables that tend to get eaten, it might be a nice added touch.

Step Five

Finally, write the name of the plant on one of the petals of the popsicle stick flower. This is even helpful if you are planting already developed plants as it will remind the kids what the names of the plants are.

Enjoy your spring planting!
