DIY Cute and Easy Turkey Craft

Looking for a fun and easy turkey craft? This cute DIY turkey is a cinch to pull together. The best part is that you can turn it into so many different things!

Glue a safety pin on the back and make it a wearable turkey.
Glue it to a ribbon and make it a tie for a napkin on your Thanksgiving table.
Glue it to a place card and use it as a name card or a label for items on your buffet table.
Glue it to the top of a pencil and give it to your teacher.

You will need ...

Leaves in fall colors (these can be premade fabric leaves, paper leaves, felt leaves)
Brown Felt (or cardstock)
Red Felt (or cardstock)
Yellow Felt (or cardstock)
Googly eyes
Scissors
Glue
Sharpie

Step One

First, pick out your leaves. I used three leaves so the turkey wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Try to use colors that are slightly different from each other so that you can really see the leaves. Set them aside.

Step Two

Next, create the pieces for the turkey body. Place the leaves down next to the brown felt and use a sharpie to outline the body. The leaf will serve as a size guide. Then, cut out the body, the beak, and the waddle.

Step Three

Now, assemble the turkey. First, glue all three leaves together by placing glue on one leaf, then placing the next leaf on top. Be sure to skew it a little so that all the leaf points will be visible. Then, glue the turkey body onto the leaves. If you have lines or marks on one side, use the marked up side as the underside (the one that you’ll put glue on).

Next, glue on the turkey face. First, place down the waddle, then top it with the beak. Then glue on the eyes. My eyes were self-adhesive, but I glued them down just to be safe.

Step Four

I turned my turkey into a pin, so I glued down a safety pin on the back.
