Here is a cute picture that your kids can make out of paper. These paper flowers in a gardener’s pot make a great Mother’s Day card.
Next, make the flowers. Each flower has three tear drop shapes. One in the center that stays the same and another two which will be folded in half. Glue the folded shapes to the center shape, one on each side. The folded edge goes in the center. I angled them slightly to give it a more realistic look.
Fold the pot in half with the open flap facing towards you. Then, lay out the flowers, stems, and leaves how you want them to end up. This helps to give an idea of where things need to go in order to all fit together. If the stems are set too wide, they won’t fit in the pot. If the flowers are not staggered slightly, they will overlap.
Once everything is laid out to your liking, start gluing. Be sure to glue down the “bottom” items first. For example, glue down the stems and leaves first. Then the flowers because they need to go on top of the stems. Lastly, glue on the pot since it needs to cover the stems. Remember to have the flap opening towards the front.
The final step is to write your message inside the pot. Remember that this card could be used for more than just Mother's Day. It works great for teacher appreciation day. Or for sending some cheer to someone.
