This is a great pocket hand warmer to keep you toasty while outdoors during the colder months.
Why you need one
Getting out for my morning walks has gotten to be a challenge now that the weather is turning. When the temp reads 30 degrees F outside, it is easy to blow off the walk. But then I think about all the holiday goodies I want to eat and I realize I better get out there and move around.
Now I bundle up before heading out. Heavier jacket, thicker socks, scarf, fuzzy knit hat. And don’t forget the gloves with the touchscreen friendly fingertips (those are a must). Most of the time I feel warm and ready for the cold temps. But there are those days when the wind is making it a bit colder, or the damp air adds an extra chill and I need a bit more.
The specs
So I ordered this portable hand warmer from Amazon. Here are the details.
Amazon, $24.99
Comes in black, turquoise, gold, rose gold, and silver (I ordered the gold).
There are three settings: 105 degrees F, 115 degrees F, and 125 degrees F, roughly.
Heating time per charge: 4-8 hours, depending on the heat setting used.
Charging time: 2-3 hours.
The warmer comes with a user manual, a carrying pouch, a charging cord, and a carrying cord to attach to the handwarmer. It has just one switch to turn on and off and to adjust the heat setting. There is also a usb port at the top to use when you are charging your phone on the warmer. I can see how that would be an added bonus feature, but it does mean that you would need to be carrying around a charging cord for your phone to hook up to the warmer.
Overall, this is a great gadget to have on hand (pun not intended but appreciated). I keep the hand strap on my wrist while using it just in case it slips. I have also hung it from my neck and worn it against my body as a way to heat up my jacket. A great trick when tailgating – keeps your hands free. A definite must if you spend time outside during the colder months.
